November 3, 2012 Just Cuz Half Marathon 1:19:04 second place overall.  (what a difference a year makes)

 


Long-Term Running Goals:

Worship the Lord and praying early in the mornibgs and keep doing that. Staying humble and desperate for the Lord and praying for end-time revival for America.

My Long Term goal is to just run whatever I can.

Hebrews 4:16 So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most.

Well, I decided to run today after a days rest to give the knee time to heal.  The knee felt pretty good not really any pain just a bulging feeling,  It's kind of hard to explain, but really no pain I felt a little discomfort but not really pain.  I ran an easy 10.1 miles at an overall 7:18 pace in 1:13, and I'm excited.  I will not run tomorrow and really get the knee fresh to start a new week.  

I wanted over 75 miles this week but the knee is more important to be ready for Ogden.

Maybe it is referred pain. My knee was like that a couple of months ago. It hurt, but it wasn't really in one precise spot. It was caused (I think) from a problem with my piriformis/gluteous minimus. Do you have sore/really tight spots in your quads or gluts?

Josse - it's right by the kneecap on the inside of the knee not the outside. But it really doesn't hurt anymore. After some runs this week the pain hurt pretty good. But after today's run there's no pain. But I'm still taking tomorrow off. I still need to watch it close. I think my problem was I over-trained for the SLC Marathon, and then didn't take anytime off after that. I wanted to keep the training going for Ogden because I wasn't happy with my SLC performance. I really need a breakout marathon.

Lybi - No my quads and gluts are fine. But thanks for the information.
